HUAWEI's new watches deliver smarter ski tracking, blood pressure monitoring, and more

HUAWEI has launched three new smartwatch families and a new pair of wireless earbuds, with its latest wearables ranging from serious blood-pressure monitoring to ski tracking and a more conventional smartwatch experience.

HUAWEI Watch GT 7 series

The HUAWEI Watch GT 7 series stands out for sports enthusiasts. Available in 46mm and 41mm versions and eight colorways, including Yellow, Blue, and Pink, the GT 7 is positioned as the more accessible option. The GT 7 Pro, available in Yellow, Green, and Black, gets more interesting outdoor upgrades and a premium, scratch-resistant build featuring a nano-tech ceramic bezel and titanium-alloy middle frame.

Both GT 7 models introduce indoor skiing and snowboarding modes that can automatically recognize activity and track metrics such as distance, speed, and total descent even without GPS. For outdoor skiing, users can download maps covering more than 3,000 resorts through HUAWEI Health.

Team-Up also lets groups track teammates’ real-time locations and performance metrics on the slopes, adding a practical safety element to group outings. The GT 7 series can also distinguish active runs from time spent on lifts, while the Pro adds Turn Detection and G-Force detection to provide more detailed feedback on how riders tackle turns.

That doesn’t mean HUAWEI has forgotten everyone who would rather stay away from a ski slope. Cycling gets its own set of upgrades, including climb planning, real-time climb information, and alerts for sharp turns. After a ride, AI Workout Analysis provides a breakdown of training data intended to help users improve without falling into the trap of overtraining.

Health tracking is getting an equally substantial refresh. The GT 7’s Health Insights now includes a morning briefing and a Physical Readiness score, which combines factors such as sleep quality, heart rate variability, emotion, and calories burned to produce one of five recovery levels. The 46mm GT 7 and GT 7 Pro are rated for up to 21 days of light use, although actual battery life will obviously vary with usage.

HUAWEI Watch D3

The HUAWEI Watch D3 is the group’s specialist, built primarily for blood pressure monitoring. It comes in Black, White, and Mocha Gold, with a 40g body that’s 11.3mm thick and paired with a 25.5mm ultra-narrow airbag strap.

Its mechanical airbag system supports 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, including automatic measurements at night, as well as manual readings and dedicated measurements before and after exercise. HUAWEI says its blood-pressure monitoring has received CE marking under the EU Medical Device Regulation.

The watch can also generate a Health Glance report covering up to 11 indicators in about 60 seconds, while Health Insights incorporates blood pressure data into longer-term health trends.

HUAWEI Watch 6

The HUAWEI Watch 6 takes a broader smartwatch approach, coming in 42mm and 46mm sizes. The available finishes include Black Stainless Steel and Blue Stainless Steel for the 46mm model, alongside Silver Aluminum Alloy with a White strap and Gold Aluminum Alloy with a Pink strap for the 42mm version.

The Watch 6 Pro comes in 43mm and 46mm versions, including a 46mm Space Edition and a 43mm all-ceramic model, with an 18K gold-accented Ceramic Edition also available.

Beyond the looks, the series offers more than 100 workout modes, eSIM-based calling, Safety Check, contactless payments, and a new wrist-rotation gesture. Health Glance now covers 11 metrics, while Healthy Living adds diet tracking alongside exercise, sleep, and mood.

HUAWEI FreeBuds Neo

Rounding out the launch are the FreeBuds Neo, available in Stellar Silver, Nebula Pink, Ice White, and Starry Black. Each earbud weighs about 4.8g, and HUAWEI says it redesigned the shape based on its ear-fit data to improve long-term comfort.

The earbuds offer adaptive noise cancelation rated at up to 30dB, a new Turbo driver, spatial audio, and lossless audio transmission of up to 2.3Mbps with compatible HUAWEI devices. They also support dual-device connections across Android, iOS, and Windows, reducing dependence on HUAWEI hardware.

Pricing and availability

In the UK, the GT 7 starts at £279.99 (~$378), while the GT 7 Pro starts at £379.99 (~$513), with orders opening on September 2.

The Watch D3 and Watch 6 start at £399.99 (~$540), the Watch 6 Pro at £599.99 (~$810), and the FreeBuds Neo at £119.99 (~$162), with those products arriving on September 23.
