Huawei’s EMUI is one of the more divisive Android skins out there, owing to the company’s extensive tweaks. EMUI 9.1 is currently available on the HUAWEI P30 series, but the company has since revealed a comprehensive list of devices set to get the new update.

According to a post by the firm’s EMUI Weibo account (spotted by XDA-Developers), HUAWEI plans to bring EMUI 9.1 to a total of 49 devices. The beta version is currently available on the Mate 20, Mate 20 ProMate 20X, and Mate 20 RS, while the final version is on the P30 trio. But what about the other devices?

HUAWEI is actively testing the update on the following devices, according to the Weibo post and XDA:

  • HUAWEI Mate 20 Lite
  • HUAWEI Mate 10
  • HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro
  • HUAWEI Mate RS Porsche Design
  • HUAWEI Mate 9
  • HUAWEI Mate 9 Pro
  • HUAWEI Mate 9 Porsche Design
  • HUAWEI P20
  • HUAWEI P20 Pro
  • HUAWEI P10
  • HUAWEI P10 Plus
  • HUAWEI Nova 4
  • HUAWEI Nova 3
  • HUAWEI Nova 3i
  • HUAWEI Nova 2S
  • HONOR Play
  • HONOR 10
  • HONOR Play 8A
  • HONOR View 10
  • HONOR View 10 Lite
  • HONOR Note 10
  • HONOR 9
  • HONOR V9
  • HONOR 8X

The Chinese manufacturer also plans to upgrade the following models to EMUI 9.1:

  • HUAWEI Nova 4e
  • HUAWEI Nova 3e
  • HUAWEI Enjoy 9 Plus
  • HUAWEI Enjoy 8 Plus
  • HUAWEI Enjoy Max
  • HUAWEI Enjoy 9S
  • HUAWEI Enjoy 7S
  • HUAWEI Enjoy 9e
  • HONOR 9 Lite
  • HONOR 8X Max
  • HONOR 20i
  • HONOR 9i
  • HONOR 7X
  • HUAWEI MediaPad M5 10.1
  • HUAWEI MediaPad M5 8.4
  • HUAWEI MediaPad M5 8.0
  • HUAWEI MediaPad M5 Pro 10.8
  • HUAWEI MediaPad 5T 10.1

It’s a pretty comprehensive list of supported phones and tablets, but it seems like a few devices are missing at first glance. Names like the HUAWEI P Smart series, the P20 Lite, and P10 Lite, and P8 Lite 2017 are curiously absent.

However, HUAWEI’s nonsensical naming scheme means the P20 Lite is the Nova 3e in some locations, while the P Smart is the Enjoy 7s, the P10 Lite is the Enjoy Youth, and the P8 Lite 2017 is also known as the HONOR 8 Lite, Nova Lite, and GR3. As the Nova 3e and P Smart are on the list, there’s still a good chance P20 Lite and P Smart owners will also receive EMUI 9.1. This is a Chinese listing after all, so the English-language listing could reflect these changes.

Similarly, many HUAWEI Y series devices seem to be missing from the list too. But once again, this could be due to the fact that we’re looking at a region-specific list. Still, between the Mate 9 series, P10 duo, and HONOR 7X, we’re glad to see the company focus on older devices too.

As for EMUI 9.1 features, HUAWEI is promising a new file system, GPU Turbo 3.0, Google Assistant activation via the power button, and tweaked fitness features. Is your phone missing from the list? Let us know in the comments!
