How to delete apps on your Chromebook in less than 60 seconds

Ditch those unwanted apps with a few easy steps.

Chromebooks aren’t always the most generous with storage, so it never hurts to eliminate apps you don’t use. There are two main ways you can delete apps on Chromebooks, both of which will take less than a minute of your time. You can uninstall the ones you no longer have any use for right from the app drawer or via the Google Play Store.

The process depends on your chosen method, but the result is the same. We’ll walk you through both options in this post.

QUICK ANSWER

To delete an app on Chromebook, press the circular icon at the bottom-left corner of your screen, click the up arrow if required, right-click on the app you want to delete, and click Uninstall. For Android apps, find the app on Google Play Store and click Uninstall. For Chrome extensions, go to chrome://extensions in Google Chrome, and click Remove in the particular extension listing.

Keep in mind that the process is more or less identical to uninstalling an app you’ve downloaded from the Chrome Web Store. The only difference is that the option to remove an app will be labeled as Remove from Chrome instead of Uninstall.

If you cannot find a particular Chrome Web Store app, head to chrome://extensions in Google Chrome. Look for the extension, and click Remove. Click Remove again on the confirmation pop-up.
