Google Pixel 4 launch date confirmed, is later in October than usual
After a bunch of speculation and leaked dates, we now have full confirmation on the Google Pixel 4 and Google Pixel 4 XL launch date: October 15, 2019. As with last year, the event will take place in New York City.
This October 15 date is a bit later than usual for Google’s annual “Made by Google” event. Last year, for example, it was held on October 9, 2018, and the year before that it was on October 4, 2017.
Usually, Google announces the latest round of Pixel smartphones and then puts them up for pre-order that day. The devices then ship and hit store shelves a few weeks later. Since the launch event is happening a bit later in October than usual, it’s possible the general on-sale date of the devices could happen in very early November for the first time.
However, it’s possible Google could push the devices out before the end of October or change up its release strategy entirely this time around.
Check out the GIF that came with the invitation Google sent to Android Authority for the Google Pixel 4 XL launch date event:
There doesn’t appear to be any clues in the GIF as to what we can expect. However, the pinkish color in the GIF does deviate from the usual blue, red, orange, and green selections for the Google logo. The color also lines up well with a leaked colorway of the Pixel 4, which you can see here.
Regardless, mark your calendars for the Google Pixel 4 XL launch date event on October 15! We’ll learn all the things we don’t already know about the new devices (which, admittedly, isn’t much). You can even see a livestream placeholder for the event on YouTube right now.
