Google's new wallpaper puts the Pixel 11's blueprint on your lock screen

It’s been a little over a month since Google launched the Pixel 11 series, but the company has one more small treat for Pixel fans. Google Japan has shared a new Pixel 11 wallpaper on X, and if you enjoy seeing what’s hiding beneath all that glass and metal, you’ll probably want this one.

Instead of another abstract design, the wallpaper makes your phone look transparent. It recreates the Pixel 11’s internal layout as if you were looking through the display and directly into the hardware underneath.

And there’s quite a lot to look at. You can see the different components packed around the top of the phone, the large patterned section stretching through the middle, ribbon cables running down the left, and hardware bits surrounding the bottom. Everything is drawn in thin black lines against a white background, giving it a technical blueprint look.

Google also showed what it looks like on a Pixel 11 lock screen, and that’s where the wallpaper makes considerably more sense. Despite everything underneath, the monochrome design is clean enough that the clock, weather, fingerprint scanner, and status icons stay easy to see. It almost looks like Google designed the phone’s lock screen on top of an engineering drawing.

There’s also a second image showing the wallpaper from the back, complete with its cameras, battery, circuitry, Google branding, and even the repair URL printed on the battery. It’s a neat companion image if you want a closer look at the phone’s layout, although the front-facing version is obviously the one you’ll actually want to use as a wallpaper.

The best part is that you can use it on an older Pixel, too. So, if your Pixel 9 or Pixel 10 is starting to feel familiar, this is an easy way to give its lock screen some Pixel 11 flavor; at least you can pretend you’re looking at something newer every time you pick up your phone.
