Google says those frustrating Photos freezes are finally fixed

- Last week users shared that Google Photos was freezing up on them after performing edits.
- Google shared some workarounds, while confirming that a fix was in development.
- Google now tells Android Authority that the fix is ready, and impacted users should update their Photos app.
What’s your least favorite way for an app to misbehave? A full-on crash? Inconsistently responding to your input? Or shutting down and refusing to do anything at all? Last week, we shared word of an annoying Google Photos bug that definitely fell into that latter category, and today we’re already hearing about its resolution.
Impacted users discovered that after they interacted with the app’s editing tools, Photos would just freeze up on them, preventing them from taking further action:
Google followed up with us to share some steps users could take as a work-around, while also confirming that work on a proper fix was under development.
Today, Google’s back in touch to tell Android Authority that everything should now be sorted:
We’ve rolled out a fix for this issue. It is available now in the latest version of the Google Photos app (version 7.94.0.988717361).
If you’re still running into any freezes, pull up the Play Store and make sure you’ve installed Google’s latest update. Once you’re caught up with this new build, those Google Photos freezes should (hopefully) be a thing of the past.
