Google could soon make it easier to listen to your Gemini Daily Brief

Google has been working on several new features and improvements for the Gemini Daily Brief. We’ve seen the company working on making the Daily Brief easier to customize and even adding it to the At a Glance widget on Pixel phones. Now, it seems the company is also working on making it easier to listen to your briefings.

While taking a look at the latest version of the Google app (v17.54.10), we spotted a new feature in Gemini Daily Brief that makes it easier to listen to a Daily Brief. The feature shows up as a new floating button labelled “Talk through your brief.” When a user taps it, the Gemini Live interface opens and starts reading the briefing.

Though the audio part of this experience is already working smoothly, it seems Google is still working on the UI. Right now, the interface just displays “Here’s what’s on your plate today,” even though the audio works fine. We also tried tapping the button multiple times, and the UI just kept showing different introductory lines for the briefing. Clearly, this is very much a work in progress.

It’s worth noting that audio briefings aren’t new, and Gemini Live can already read through them. However, this addition could give the capability greater visibility, making it easier for users to listen to their updates without first opening Gemini Live and asking it to read their daily briefing.

As stated above, Google still has to get the UI working properly. Hopefully, the company can get it sorted and ready to roll out sooner rather than later.
