Deal: Buy Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus, get two 12-month MoviePass subscriptions

Samsung usually offers solid incentives and promotions for U.S. customers buying its flagship handsets. The latest deal is no exception, giving you two 12-month MoviePass subscriptions when you buy a Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus direct from Samsung.

To take advantage of the promotion (h/t: PhoneArena), first visit the Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus store page, then enter your email address and add the reward during the purchasing process. After two weeks, your MoviePass subscription details will be sent to you via email address. Simply follow the instructions in the email to activate your subscription.

The MoviePass subscription allows users to view one movie a day for 12 months at participating theaters in the country. The plan usually costs $9.95 a month. 

Beware of the fine print

The promotion is valid until June 30 or until stocks last. Samsung’s terms and conditions note that no more than 15,000 rewards are available, and if you miss the boat, they “may choose” to issue a $252 Samsung.com certificate instead.

Additionally, the MoviePass subscription isn’t available for registered users and the subscription codes need to be redeemed by August 9. You’re also required to submit payment information upon redemption so you’d better set your alarm for the day before your subscription expires. This way, you can remove your payment info to prevent unexpected charges.

The promotion comes as the Korean brand also runs another deal, giving you a pair of $180 AKG headphones with either a Galaxy S9 or Note 8 purchase. We’ve asked Samsung whether the MoviePass and AKG deals can be combined and will update the article when we receive a response.
