What's your favorite podcast app? (Poll of the Week)
Last week’s poll summary: Last week, we asked you about your favorite Android version of all time. Out of 2,800 total votes, 26 percent of our readers voted for Android 8.0 Oreo, while 24 percent of the votes went to Android 9.0 Pie. Android Nougat received 12 percent of the votes, and coming in fourth with 11 percent is Android Lollipop.
People listen to podcasts for all sorts of reasons: to learn something new, to help them relax, or simply to turn something on that’s not music. I listen to podcasts every single day for all three of those reasons, and I use Pocket Casts.
Pocket Casts — which has been recently acquired by NPR and WBEZ Chicago — is one of the more feature-packed options out there, offering light/dark themes, a web player, Chromecast built-in support, and a ton of other advanced features.
Don’t like Pocket Casts? There are dozens of other podcast apps to choose from. Google Podcasts is a great option if you need a bare-bones and simple experience, while SoundCloud and Stitcher have been around for years and have both amassed a ton of users in the process.
What’s your favorite podcast app? Pocket Casts, Google Podcasts, or something else? Cast your vote in the poll, and speak up in the comments if you have anything to add.
