Essential Phone will finally be available in Ocean Depths starting tomorrow
- Essentially recently published a tweet that teased the Ocean Depths variant of the Essential Phone.
- According to the tweet, the Ocean Depths variant will be available on February 15.
- The teal variant was unveiled in July 2017 alongside black, white, and matte Stellar Grey.
When the Essential Phone launched in July 2017, you could pick from several color options, as long as it was black. White has since been offered as a second choice, but the mesmerizing Ocean Depths color might finally make its debut by week’s end.
Essential published a tweet that teased the teal colorway. Keep in mind that, at an angle, Ocean Depths appears much bluer than it does in the image above. Combined with the gold accents along the titanium frame and fingerprint sensor, Ocean Depths looks like a stunning colorway.

From the looks of it, the Essential Phone will be available in Ocean Depths starting this Thursday, February 15. We last heard about the color last November, when Essential said the teal variant had lingering issues and did not know when those issues would be resolved.
What remains a mystery is the matte Stellar Grey option, which remains unavailable from Essential’s website. In November 2017, Essential said it developed a new polishing process to give the Essential Phone a uniform look and texture. Perhaps there are still unexpected kinks in that process, since Essential expected to ship Stellar Grey before Ocean Depths.
Will this beautiful new color scheme help those flagging sales?
