KEY SECTIONS
Does Disney Plus have gift cards?
Yes! Disney Plus has digital gift cards for subscriptions, but there is a catch. Only new Disney Plus subscribers can redeem gift subscriptions. That means if someone already has a Disney Plus account, they will not be able to redeem any card given to them. Therefore, we’d highly recommend checking with the person you intend to gift the card to before committing to a purchase.
Gift cards will only work within the region they are purchased. That means you can only gift them to someone from the same country as you. Here’s a quick breakdown of prices per region for what a one-year subscription to Disney Plus costs.
- US – $79.99
- Canada – $119.99
- UK – £79.90
- Australia – $119.99
- France – €89.90
- Germany – €89.90

How to gift a Disney plus subscription
You can purchase Disney Plus gift cards directly from the Disney Plus website. When you purchase a one-year gift subscription, you’ll be asked to provide an email address for your recipient, choose a delivery date, and have the opportunity to write a personal message.
Then, on your chosen date, Disney will email your recipient, notifying them it is a gift from you and with instructions on redeeming their gift subscription. Again, remember that these gift cards are intended for new subscribers only, so ensure the recipient isn’t already signed up for the streaming service.
You’ll pay for their first year of Disney Plus when you purchase the gift subscription. After a year, they can add their own payment details and continue their subscription.
Can you get physical Disney Plus gift cards?
It might be a little tricky if you hope to give someone a tangible, plastic gift card. Physical cards are hard to find in stores and are primarily available in select Disney Stores and Disney Parks in North America. It will save you the trip to opt for a digital code.
It may not seem as special as having a card to hold in your hands, but at least digital cards cut down on waste and pollution. If you plan to give Disney Plus to someone young who doesn’t yet have an email address, you could send it to the parents and ask them to print out the card on paper.
FAQs
No, you cannot use gift cards toward existing subscriptions. Current Disney Plus subscribers must create a new account under a different email address to use the digital card.
Disney Plus currently does not accept Disney Gift Cards as a form of payment. However, you can use a Disney Gift Card to purchase a redeemable 12-month Disney Plus subscription available at retail locations at Disney Parks and Resorts in the US.
Each Disney Plus account is linked to a credit card. Therefore, paying for a gift card requires creating a new account linked to your credit card; you cannot pay the balance of someone else’s account. This also helps Disney increase the number of active accounts.
