Deal: Passing on the Galaxy S9? Grab a Galaxy S8 Plus for just $490

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is great and all, but when you can pick up the Galaxy S8 Plus for less than $500, is the $300+ difference worth it?

With its variable aperture camera, slim smaller bezels, and Snapdragon 845 processor, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will likely be one of the best smartphones of 2018, but don’t count out the Galaxy S8 Plus just yet. It still packs a punch and is on sale for $490 on eBay.

eBay seller BuySPRY is selling the Galaxy S8 Plus in Orchid Gray and Midnight Black. Regardless of the color, the Galaxy S8 Plus on sale is the unlocked Verizon model, which means it works on AT&T and T-Mobile, though not Sprint.

The Galaxy S8 Plus will not be in its retail box and won’t include Samsung-branded accessories, but the eBay seller said the phone is brand new. It comes with a 60-day seller warranty, for whatever that’s worth.

Even without the retail box, original accessories, or device warranty, $490 is the lowest price we have seen on a supposedly new Galaxy S8 Plus. It definitely raises some eyebrows, but the seller’s 98.3 percent positive feedback and over 150,000 reviews adds credibility.

The Galaxy S8 Plus features a 6.2-inch display with QHD+ resolution, 12 MP camera, Snapdragon 835 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of expandable storage, and 3,500 mAh battery. The Galaxy S8 Plus still runs Android Nougat, though the Android Oreo update should roll out any day now.
