Bluetooth headphones or wired headphones with a dongle? (Poll of the Week)

What's your preferred listening method?

Last week’s poll summary: Out of over 3,400 total votes, 69.6 percent of our readers said metal/aluminum is their favorite material for a smartphone, while 23.5 percent of voters prefer glass. The results were all basically the same on our social channels. Though, a surprising number of users made sure to mention plastic as an alternative.

Complaining about smartphones that don’t have a headphone jack is, like, so 2017. But it’s a fact that we’re going to have to accept eventually. Like it or not, it’s the way the smartphone industry is headed; most phone makers have already ditched the 3.5mm port for good.

That leaves us with two options for audio: get a pair of Bluetooth headphones for wireless connectivity, or keep using your favorite wired headphones along with a dongle.

For me, Bluetooth headphones are the easiest route. They’re easy to connect, you don’t have to fiddle around with extra wires, and you don’t need to worry about misplacing your dongle. Oh, and you can charge your phone while you listen via Bluetooth audio.

I definitely see the benefits of wired audio, too. Wired headphones don’t need to be charged, and you don’t need to deal with a faulty Bluetooth connection. You plug your headphones in, and they work. It’s that easy.
