And Just Like That Season 1 (HBO Max)

It’s been 11 years since the last Sex and the City movie, but now three of the four main cast members from that HBO franchise are coming back for this HBO Max exclusive series. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon reprise their roles as best friends Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda as they once again navigate through the romantic and social trends of New York City. Other original cast members like Chris Noth, Evan Handler, David Eigenberg, and the late Willie Garson (in his final performances) will also return. One big question: How will the show explain the absence of the other main Sex and the City character, Samantha (Kim Cattrall)?

Welcome to Earth Season 1 (Disney Plus)

Will Smith uttered the phrase “Welcome to Earth!” when his character punched an invading extraterrestrial in the movie that made him a movie star, Independence Day. Now Smith uses that same line as the title for this six-episode National Geographic-produced series that’s exclusive to Disney Plus. Smith, along with other adventurers, explores some of the hardest-to-reach areas of the planet, from inside an erupting volcano to the bottom of the ocean.

The Unforgivable (Netflix)

Sandra Bullock returns to Netflix, three years after her hit horror movie Bird Box, for this much more serious drama. She plays Ruth Slater, a woman who is finally getting out of prison after 20 years for shooting a police officer. Shunned by most of the local residents, she now has to piece her life together again. For her, that also means trying to get back in touch with her younger sister.

Encounter (Amazon Prime Video)

Riz Ahmed stars in this thriller film, about a man who takes his two young sons on a “trip,” which in fact is a way to keep them from being killed by what he thinks is an alien invasion. But is there more going on here than meets the eye? Octavia Spencer also stars in this movie that will keep you guessing.

The Expanse Season 6 (Amazon Prime Video)

The sci-fi series, based on the acclaimed novels by “James S.A. Corey,” comes to an end on Amazon Prime Video with this shortened six-episode final season. The Expanse has centered on the conflict between the governments of Earth’s inner solar system and the “Belters” who live in the outer solar system. It stands to reason that this final season will bring that conflict to an end, but how will this all turn out?
