The export settings are a little wonky, but you can make some actually good recordings with this app. It has all of the tools you’d need as a vocalist for the low, low price of free.

FL Studio

FL Studio escalates the audio recording capabilities to the next level. It’s a full studio app where you can record vocals, add beats, and create whole songs. The learning curve is rather steep, but it’s actually pretty fun once you get used to it. The app contains various presets, modules, synths, samplers, beats, and MIDI controller support. Thus, you can create entire songs with a multitude of tools at your disposal. The app is a bit expensive, but getting software like this on desktop computers can cost hundreds of dollars so it’s kind of a steal. The in-app purchases are for optional add-ons that don’t affect functionality.

Hi-Q MP3 Voice Recorder

Hi-Q Voice Recorder is one of the best voice recorder apps for android

Hi-Q MP3 Voice Recorder is a simpler, easier option for recording your voice. You simply tap the record button, sing your heart out, hit stop, and you can listen to yourself sing. It doesn’t have the fancy sound editing extras of Dolby On, but it does have some decent features all on its own. It records natively in MP3 so you can easily send the file to any computer and listen to it there. Additionally, the app comes with a home screen widget, quality settings, other music formats if you want, and more. The premium version is your only option and it runs for $3.49. It’s free on Google Play Pass if you have it.

KaraFun

KaraFun is one of the more popular karaoke apps for Android. It’s also quite good for singers. You can queue up a song, sing it out, and then do it again. The app boasts over 42,000 songs along with an offline mode. You can sync songs to your device and practice your singing anywhere. It even works with Chromecast so you can play it on your TV. The app has an absurd weekly subscription that we don’t recommend to anyone. The monthly subscription is a bit more reasonable.

The Metronome by Soundbrenner

The Metronome by Soundbrenner is one of the easiest and best singer apps. It’s a metronome where you can define a beat and then rap or sing to it. The app also has 20 sounds, a dark or light theme, and even support for MIDI devices. You can create various time signatures, save presets, and more as well. There are many other metronome apps and we have some linked up below the download button, but this one should hit all the notes (pun intended) for most people. It’s also entirely free to use.

Nail the Pitch is one of the better singing apps for Android. It allows you to monitor the notes you sing so you can see what pitch they were. Some other functions include the ability to test your entire vocal range, record your voice for further analysis, and more. There isn’t much else to it than that. However, this app promises to help you practice pitch and it does. We like it when apps do what they say.

Riyaz

Riyaz is a vocal training app. It lets you practice things like vocal tuning, voice analysis, and actually singing. The app has thousands of practices that you can sing. You can then loop any segments with lots of errors over and over again until you get it right. You can also load songs in with YouTube and practice real songs that way. The app works in 11 languages and it was obviously developed for languages other than English. However, with the YouTube function, you can practice singing any modern hit.

The Vocal Coach

The Vocal Coach is a voice coaching app from Annabel Williams of X Factor UK and Britain’s Got Talent. The app aims to help coach vocalists from the beginner stages up through more advanced singing. It includes breathing exercises, various vocal exercises, music from various genres, and even tips for what to eat and tips for taking care of your voice. It does not contain progressive lessons for vocalists. It’s basically tips, tricks, exercises, and practices. However, you can run through these things no matter how advanced you are. Plus, it’s a single payment and not a subscription so that’s nice.

Voloco is a recording studio specifically for singers. This is a lot like Dolby On, but with more complex things to help your recorded singing sound better. For instance, you can remove background noise, put your voice to a beat, EQ your voice, play with things like reverb and compression, and more. It also has the ability to extract vocals from existing songs and mess with them to create some weird stuff. Some other features include a notepad for jotting down lyrics, the ability to share your work with others on the site, and over 50 vocal effects. The monthly subscription is a tad expensive and you save a ton of money by going for the yearly version. Luckily, the app gives you a week to test it out before it makes you pay anything.

YouTube

Price: Free / $12.99 per month

YouTube is easily one of the best singing apps for a variety of reasons. The app has tons upon tons of videos for vocal lessons, challenges, exercises, tips, and tricks to improve your voice. Additionally, you can search for almost any popular song with the word “karaoke” and get a no-lyrics version of the song that you can sing to. Between the information, the karaoke aspect, and the price (free with ads), YouTube can be a pretty powerful tool for beginning vocalists who want to learn and practice. You can pay $12.99 per month for no ads and background play. It also gives you unfettered access to YouTube Music, an added bonus.
