After Samsung confirmed that they will not be announcing the Galaxy S3 at the Mobile World Congress, people are getting anxious to know when the smartphone will finally be unveiled. In fact, many are getting tired of waiting when the phone will finally make an appearance or even release its specs. Meanwhile, a mobile analyst named Eldar Murtazin, believes that Samsung will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus in April. It is a phone that runs on Android 4.0 and is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Although this is a possible event, many are hoping to catch a glimpse …

We initially speculated that Samsung will be revealing the Galaxy S3 at next month’s Mobile World Congress. However, Chris Ziegler (The Verge) and other German sites are reporting that the Android manufacturer will not be announcing the device in Barcelona. For many people, this is a complete surprise, especially since both the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy S II first made a debut a day before last year’s MWC. So if you’re hoping to see the successor of the company’s flagship smartphone on February 27, you might end up disappointed. One of the reasons why experts believe the announcement of …
After exciting many of the attendees of the CES 2012 held earlier this month, Acer has finally made the Iconia Tab A700 official—complete with a target price of €549 or around $720 for the 16GB model; €649 for the 32GB; and €749 or around $1000 for the 64GB model. The prices were unveiled during a press event held in Hamburg. However, since these are just target prices, Acer has not made any official promise to either increase or decrease these prices. The release date is slated for Q2 of 2012. Features of the Tab A700 include a 1080p resolution, Tegra-3 …
A little birdie told us to look out for Huawei at the Mobile World Congress next month! According to the rumor mill, Huawei will be launching a new series of Android devices in the US shores, named Diamond. Compared to previous models, Huawei claims that this new line of smartphones will ‘take performance a step higher.’ Considering that Huawei left a huge impact last CES 2012 with their thinnest smartphone, we can really expect this upcoming line to live up to its promise. Not to mention, the latest Huawei devices already run on Android 4.0 and boast their features including …
We haven’t heard anything official from Samsung yet, but it looks like the the next generation of the Galaxy S line of phones may not be making it’s debut at Mobile World Congress next month. Everyone was and is still speculating the announcement of the Galaxy S3 to happen at Mobile World Congress this year, especially since that is where the Galaxy S2 was announced last year. But a new report coming from The Verge today suggests that at one time that was indeed the plan, but now Samsung may have decided to push the Galaxy S3′s unveiling back. This rumor comes …
With HTC confirming its attendance at next month’s Mobile World Congress, many are speculating that they will be launching the HTC Primo during the event. Along with rumors of launching the HTC Edge and HTC Ville, the budget and latest smartphone by the company is expected to make its debut to the public. People have been patiently awaiting the debut of the HTC Primo as it is a compact phone capable of so much. Having a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen furnished with Gorilla Glass protection, the phone only measures a surprising 9mm. Albeit its low specs, the HTC Primo is …
This might be a little to early, since CES isn’t even over yet. But the next big event in Android takes place at the end of February in Barcelona, Mobile World Congress 2012. Today Sony started sending out invites for the event, which is pictured above, and it looks like we are going to see more Xperia phones announced at MWC next month. Mobile World Congress is February 27th – March 1, 2012 in Barcelona, Spain, and as always we will bring you all the latest from that event. In related news, a Tweet from Orange UK’s Conor Maples confirms that the …
Rumored to be announced at next month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Spain, the phone to the right is going by the codename of “Zeppelin”. This makes little sense as this phone has also been going by that name and has been made very official as of late (although since ditching the Zeppelin title). For now, we will call it the Motorola mystery until it’s formal announcement arrives. Specifications are said to include MOTOBLUR running on 2.0 or 2.1, a 5 Megapixel camera, a 3.2-inch HVGA display, GPS, and touch sensitive buttons below the screen. The most interesting part of …
We were just informed by the folks at Quickoffice that the company will be introducing its own full featured Office document creation and editing suite at next week’s Moible World Congress in Barcelona. This app will be positioned against the recently announced Documents To Go product from DataViz that we mentioned the other day. The app will be demonstrated along side of a new version for Apple’s iPhone platform.
As PC sales fall due to the current economic climate, companies such as Dell are pushing for new revenue streams to offset their falling profits. According to the Wall Street Journal, Dell have had engineers working on a mobile phone for the last year; we may even see a breach into the phone market as soon as this month. Although this is all hearsay at the moment, it is an interesting concept. If true, the word on the street is that we can expect to see Android running on one of these puppies. Dell are well known for their relatively …
We just received a note from cell phone manufacturer General Mobile telling us that it plans on showing off the world’s first dual-SIM capable Android powered phone at the 2009 Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona next month. The phone, called the DSTL1, is shown in a few renderings in the gallery below. Astute readers will note that the button configuration on the phone, as shown, won’t fly for Android. Android phones currently need 5 hardware buttons in order to work (home, back, menu, call send, call end). General Mobile says that the front of the phone will change from …
According to that “news” site we love to hate, DigiTimes, some anonymous sources from Taiwan are claiming that HTC’s Sapphire, the phone thought to be the G2, will be launched in May. If true this would mean that we won’t be seeing it next month at the Mobile World Congress show, which would be quite a letdown. I still believe (hope?) that we’ll see it in Barcelona next month, but I could certainly understand if T-Mobile wanted to wait on the G2 a bit, since the G1 is still selling well. Nobody wants to cannibalize their own sales, naturally.
We’ve known for some time that Chinese manufacturer Huawei was building a Google Android powered smartphone, and we’ve known that it is supposed to come to market in Q3 of this year, but now we know when the company plans to show it to us, too. A page on the Huawei’s website notes that an Android based smartphone will be on display at the company’s Mobile U-life section of its booth at the Mobile World Congress show, which takes place next month in Barcelona, Spain. So be on the look out for our live photos and video from the show …
