Swiftkey releases new Material Design-themed keyboard pack for $2.99

The advent of the modern smartphone was not without a major sacrifice: for all those accustomed to physical keyboards, the lack thereof has always been a personal sore spot for individuals who are inclined to touch type. Given the rather limited functionality and form of early examples, one would be forgiven for holding onto their Blackberry.Fortunately virtual keyboards have progressed at an incredible rate, and at the top of the pile is one of Android’s oldest offerings: SwiftKey.

Featuring a bevy of customizable features and everything from cloud storage to swipe based gestures, it’s always been a personal favorite for many an avid Android user, yours truly included. (In fact, this entire story was typed on a Nexus 9 using SwiftKey!) In the past year, SwiftKey has become a free application with paid skins, and the latest color coordinated coolness doesn’t disappoint.

After providing two last, month, November sees three new material design inspired themes and two “remixed” classics: Minimal Material Light, Minimal Material Dark, Material Orange, Material Pink and Material Phosphor Green. The $2.99 package let’s your creativity flow while better blending in with the visual version of Lollipop. For those looking for just one theme, they can also be purchased individually at $0.99.
