Samsung has just launched its ‘Gear iOS Beta program’ today, which finally brings iOS support to both the Gear S2 and the Gear Fit 2 for Korean customers. Samsung has been looking grow its smartwatch support into Apple’s operating system for a while now, after initially promising that Gear S2 iOS support would go live by mid-January. Better late than never I suppose.

Samsung is using the beta to obtain some last minute feedback from participants in order to improve the Gear Manager app for iOS. Beta support for Apple devices include the iPhone 5, 5S, 6, 6+, 6S, 6S+, and SE, providing that the handsets are running iOS 8.4 or newer. As usual, expect some bugs and issues if you are eager to try it out.

The beta program has already kicked off and will continue until September 19th. Korean speakers can sign up over at this webpage for instruction on how to install the beta app, or you can muddle through with a translator I suppose. Either way, it shouldn’t be too much longer now until Samsung finally releases its finished iOS smartwatch software.
