Just last week, the folks at OnePlus announced that the OnePlus 2, the company’s next flagship smartphone, will be powered by the Snapdragon 810 version 2.1 processor. To continue its extremely slow spec rollout, the company has just revealed on Twitter that the OnePlus 2 will feature a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. From Twitter:

Google announced at its annual developer conference that USB Type-C would be the standard for Android devices going forward. In short, USB Type-C is a smaller, reversible port that brings support for reversible charging. It’s a heck of a lot more convenient than the standard MicroUSB ports we have on our devices today, so this is certainly good news.

Other than the OnePlus One, Samsung’s next Galaxy Note handset is rumored to feature the new charging standard, as well as Google’s next Nexus device. If the rumored launch of the handset proves true, that means that the OnePlus 2 could possibly be the first major flagship smartphone to feature USB Type-C. In addition to the charging port and processor confirmation, OnePlus also revealed that the next flagship’s price point would be higher than the rumored price of $322.

What’s the feature you’re most looking forward to on the OnePlus 2? Camera, screen, something else? Let us know in the comments!
