Zettaly Avy - an Android smart speaker, tablet and music player all in one
Last August, we told you about a company named Zettaly that was building the ‘world’s fastest portable charger’. Their PowerX, or ThinkPower as it was known during their Kickstarter campaign, was a solid looking 10,000mAh portable charger, with rapid charging as its claim to fame.
Zettaly is back at Kickstarter with a new product – introducing Avy, the smart speaker powered by Android. For those on the CES 2015 show floor, you can check it out in person as well.
The Avy is a smart speaker system by name, but if I had to describe it, I might call it an Android tablet and speaker dock all in one. Rocking a 7-inch display, the Avy is set to run Android 5.0 Lollipop, complete with Google certification, meaning you’ll get the Google Play Store and all that that entails.
Looking over the specs, we see 1024×600 resolution on that 7-inch display, 1GB of RAM under a 1GHz quad-core ARM processor, 8GB or 32GB of internal storage with microSD slot. Speakers live out the sides at 5W each.
Not only can this guy be utilized as an Android music player, alarm clock and more, but the built-in front facing VGA camera and microphone turns Avy into a communications device as well, making for a handy Hangouts video chat device. Speaking of video, the extra USB port allows for OTG connection of devices, and an HDMI jack should help take things to the next level.
As a couple nice added treats, the multi-touch capacitive touch screen is complemented by an 11 button plus d-pad remote control and an internal 14.8Wh battery gives you a little bit of portability.
The Avy Kickstarter campaign has 35 days left, and is just over $23,000 short of meeting their goal. A minimum $129 contribution will now score you an 8GB model, shipments are slated for May of this year.
Are you ready for an all-in-one dedicated Android music player, or would you rather a quality dock that can grow with your device upgrades?
