Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus is a 10-inch tablet that delivers a lot for its low price
- The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus is a new 10-inch tablet that packs a Snapdragon 660 processor.
- Its most expensive variant packs LTE and 128GB of storage for only about $305.
- As of now, the tablet is available or pre-order in China only.
Back in June, we told you about the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 – an 8-inch tablet that packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, a first for the brand.
Now, Xiaomi is officially launching a 10-inch version called the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus. Along with a bigger display, it packs some extra RAM and a hefty amount of internal storage.
One would then think that Xiaomi is also asking a pretty penny for the Plus variant, but the company is keeping things very reasonable (unlike a Korean company we know of that just released two incredibly overpriced tablets).
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus starts at 1,899 Chinese yuan (~$276) which gets you 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. You can also upgrade the storage capacity to a 128GB version which will cost 2,099 Chinese yuan (~$305).
In both scenarios, you can choose between the same black or gold color options offered for the original 8-inch Mi Pad 4.
There is one caveat (if you could call it that): the Mi Pad 4 Plus only comes in LTE variants – there is no Wi-Fi only model. One would assume that if Xiaomi offered a non-LTE model it would cut down on the price a little bit, but since the prices are already more-than-reasonable, it’s hard to complain.
The LTE bands that the tablet supports are TDD-LTE bands B34/B38/39/40/41 and FDD-LTE bands B1/3/5/7/8. Check with your carrier to see if it supports these bands.
If you don’t need the LTE or don’t have the right band support, oh well – the tablet will still work as a Wi-Fi unit with an additional feature you’re not using.
The Mi Pad 4 Plus has a 1,920 x 1,200 display, a USB Type-C port, a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, a front-facing fingerprint sensor, and an 8,620mAh battery. It weighs a little over a pound.
The tablet is currently only available in China as a pre-order – we don’t know if it will launch in other countries. Hopefully, it will, as this will bring some much-needed competitive pricing to the tablet market.
