Our own Rita El-Khoury recently waxed lyrical about the Nothing Ear 1 true wireless earbuds, saying they were the most comfortable TWS earbuds she’d ever used out of the dozens she’d previously tried.

We also included a poll in the opinion piece, asking whether you’ve had comfort issues with true wireless earbuds. Well, the results are in and here’s how you voted in this survey.

Have you had comfort issues with true wireless buds?

Results

Just over 1,200 votes were tallied in this survey, and it turns out that 41.6% of respondents said they “frequently” had comfort issues with TWS earbuds. Meanwhile, 34.1% said they had comfort issues with some models.

In other words, three-quarters of polled readers said they had comfort issues of some kind. Of course, ears come in all shapes and sizes so there isn’t quite a one-size-fits-all solution. But it does suggest that manufacturers have more work to do nonetheless.

On the other hand, 11.94% of respondents said every model they’ve tried has been comfortable. Finally, 12.37% of polled readers said they simply haven’t tried true wireless earbuds.

  • Gianluca Di Maggio: My CCA C10 hurt after a good 2 hours or so and Sony WF-1000XM3 were very uncomfortable for me. Final E1000 were nice, now I’ve ordered some Melomania 1+ for myself as they were reduced, which should fit everyone when choosing the correct earpiece :)
  • alfonzso: Sony Linkbuds is the winner for my ears. I even forget I have them in. Otherwise, any other earbud or headphone I can max wear 1-2 hrs. I also love that my Linkbuds doesn’t muffle what’s going on around me.
  • sachouba: The SoundCore Liberty 3 Pro are the first true wireless earphones that completely seal my ears and are comfortable in the long run. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Bud Pro are a comfort nightmare.
  • BluSleeper: By far out of all I’ve tried Bose has the best technology for ear comfort. I can pretty much wear it all day. Not the best in sound reproduction. But by far the best comfort so I kept my QC20s with me. I used it for my USB C portable DAC too. A truly wonderful combo. Just wish studio monitors would have this level of comfort. For wireless I love my Samsung Earbuds. Surprisingly comfy and efficient. I had my doubts but it is my most used Earbuds having a lot of software functionality also built in with a small case form factor.
  • Gregg Long: How about some wireless headphones that come without the pain of inserting them into your ear canal? How come apple seems to be the only company that makes any?
