If you own a Wear OS device you can now download and install the latest version of the operating system: version 2.3.

Although version 2.3 is a full point upgrade from the previous 2.2, there doesn’t seem to be many upgrades involved with the newest version. The Home app gets an update from 2.20 to 2.21, but there are no Google Play Services or security patch updates involved at all.

In other words, it seems this is an update for bugs and performance fixes rather than new features or other upgrades.

To update your smartwatch to Wear OS 2.3, just visit the Google Play Store on your connected smartphone and download the latest version of the Wear OS app. In time, the update will automatically get pushed to your wearable.

If for some reason that doesn’t work — or you are just impatient — you can always force your watch to take the update by following Google’s instructions here.
