TL;DR
  • vivo has shared images of the upcoming vivo X500 Pro Max.
  • It will be available in at least two colors: silver and orange.
  • It will also support the 400mm ZEISS telephoto extender we’ve seen on the X300 Ultra.

Vivo has been teasing the X500 series of smartphones for a few weeks now. While the company has already shared some enticing camera details for the X500 Pro and the X500, we were waiting to see what the flagship X500 Pro Max would look like. Well, that changes today, as the company has finally revealed the design.

vivo executive Huang Tao has shared a Weibo post with images showcasing the vivo X500 Pro Max’s design. The first image (attached above) shows that vivo is sticking with a design reminiscent of the vivo X300 Ultra, complete with a triple-camera setup housed in a circular camera island.

It also confirms that the X500 Pro Max will come in at least two colors: orange and silver. The phone will support vivo’s camera accessories, including the camera grip and the 2nd-gen telephoto extender we saw on the X300 Ultra, which extends the phone’s focal range to a 400mm equivalent (~17x) for excellent zoom. Meanwhile, a second image reiterates the September 21 launch date for the X500 series.

We already know that the vivo X500 Pro Max will come with the same 200MP telephoto sensor that we saw on the X300 Ultra. The phone will also feature a 6.85-inch 2K display and a 2nm MediaTek chipset. Though vivo hasn’t confirmed the processor by name, it’s likely to be the Dimensity 9600 Pro.

More details on the upcoming vivo X500 series are expected in the coming weeks as vivo gears up to launch the lineup in China. There’s no confirmation of a global release so far, but recent history suggests it could happen soon after the domestic launch.
