Select Android TV devices now supported by STARZ app
What makes the STARZ app distinct from other premium television streaming services is that it’s the first ever to offer download capabilities. Netflix has been toying with enabling this capability, which would let users secure content on their internal storage for times when they are away from the internet – say on a road trip or long flight – but there’s no word yet as to whether this functionality will become a reality. Netflix has long taken a hard stance on streaming-only service. STARZ, however, didn’t hesitate to let their users download to their heart’s content.
The service is $8.99 per month on participating cable, satellite, or telco partners, and STARZ claims to have the “biggest, most extensive movie library of all the premium subscription networks in the U.S.” Is this enough to coax you over to a subscription? Let us know what you think of STARZ and their new Android-TV-ready app in the comments! We don’t have specifics about which “select” Android TV devices are currently supported, so chime in if yours is or isn’t. Click the button below to get the full press release.
