TL;DR
  • Spotify’s Wrapped 2022 has gone live.
  • The annual year-end roundup is adding a couple of new features including “music personality” and daily listening habits.
  • Music personality is a Myers-Briggs-like feature that puts you into one of 16 categories.

It’s that time of year again, when all the year-end roundups start coming out. Spotify’s own summary of the year, Wrapped 2022, is now live for users to check out. But this year, Spotify has spiced things up a bit by adding two new interesting features.

If you’re not familiar with Spotify Wrapped, it’s something that Spotify has been sending to its users since 2016. It includes shareable graphics, charts, and data breaking down the most popular music and podcasts of the year, as well as user listening history statistics from January 1 to October 31. If you want to know more about it, you can check out our explainer here.

In addition to the usual social-friendly stats, the company has added a fun new music personality feature. This feature analyzes how you listen and assigns you one of 16 personality types like “Adventurer” or “Specialist.” Think of it like those Myers-Briggs personality tests you took back in the days.

Another interesting feature that Spotify has included is a breakdown of how you listen throughout the day. This analyzes what you tend to listen to during the morning, afternoon, and evening. Say you like to start the morning with some rock, motivate yourself with some hip hop in the afternoon, and relax with some pop music in the evening.

In addition, artist messages have returned for another year. This is where artists like Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, and Bad Bunny thank users for listening enough to their music make it on Spotify Wrapped.

If you’re not seeing Spotify Wrapped, keep in mind that its not shown to all users at the same time. But if you can’t want to wait to check out your stats, you can check out Stats for Spotify. It can tell you what you want to know like top tracks, top artists, top genres, and more.
