Everybody likes to share cool finds online — and music is no exception. If you find a great playlist that you need to get your friends listening to, or if you want to share your Liked Songs list, then you’ll want an easy way to share it with them. Here’s how to share a Spotify playlist, whether it’s on the mobile app, desktop, or web player.

To share a Spotify playlist on mobile, go to the playlist you wish to share. Tap the three dots under the playlist name. Select Share and choose the sharing option.

On the desktop, when you click the three horizontal dots (⋯) button, you'll have the option of either copying the link or copying the widget embed code.

How to make a collaborative playlist

On Spotify, you can share your playlist as a collaborative playlist, allowing your friend to add, remove, and reorder tracks. Here’s how to invite a collaborator to your playlist:

  • Open the Spotify app and go to the playlist you want to share.
  • Tap the invite button, represented by an image of a person with a plus sign (+).
  • Choose your preferred invite option: copy the invitation link or send it via messaging apps.

The invitation link will expire within 7 days for privacy reasons.

The steps are almost the same whether you’re using Spotify on the computer app or the website player.

  • Open the Spotify app on the desktop or web player.
  • Select the playlist you want to share at the left side panel of the screen.
  • Click the three horizontal dots (⋯) button to open up a small option menu.
  • Go to Share and either copy the playlist link or copy the widget embed link.

The playlist link can be used for social media posting or sending via messaging apps. However, if you have your own website, you can embed the playlist using Spotify’s code.

What to do when there is no three dots icon on Spotify

Sometimes, this issue can be resolved by reinstalling Spotify or ensuring that you have the latest version installed. Additionally, logging out and then back into your account might help refresh the interface. If you had tried all of these and still no use, maybe these steps can help.

  • Open the Spotify app on the desktop or web player.
  • Go to the playlist you want to share and click on Save To Your Library (+).
  • Now try left-click the playlist on the panel. You will see Share option.
  • If you still not see Share option, choose Add to playlist > New playlist.
  • Go to the new playlist you just created, you may see that three dots (…) now.
