How to search within a subreddit on Reddit
Reddit dominates the digital space due to its many diverse “subreddits,” or subsidiary forums centered around different topics. These themed forums allow users around the world to engage in ongoing discussions about shared interests. When it’s time to switch over to a different topic, users can simply choose a new subreddit from the toolbar at the top. Let’s go over how to search within a specific subreddit.

To search within a subreddit, go to the Reddit website and navigate to the subreddit you want to search within. When you go to that subreddit's page, the name of the subreddit will appear in the search bar. Type your search term into the space next to it, then press Enter.

Visit the subreddit
There are two ways to go about locating and reaching the subreddit you want to search within.
The first way is to simply search the keyword for the subreddit you want to reach. This works great if you haven’t joined that subreddit yet.
If you have already joined the subreddit you want to search in, you can click the subreddit dropdown and select it from the list.
Use the subreddit search bar
When you visit a subreddit, the name of that subreddit will appear at the beginning of the Search Reddit bar along the top of the interface. This is how you know you’re searching within that subreddit.
Enter your search term in the space after the name of the subreddit, then press Enter on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can click the bottom option from the subsequent dropdown menu, titled Search for “[your search term]”.
Your subreddit search results will appear. If you wish to search all of Reddit for that search term, you can click the blue Show results from all of Reddit button.
How to search within a subreddit (Android and iOS)
Open the Reddit mobile app. From the Home screen, use the Search bar along the top to locate and reach the subreddit you want to search within.
When you go to that subreddit, the name of the subreddit will now occupy the beginning of the search bar. Use the search bar to search for whatever your search term is.

The most likely cause is the Search Filter. If you’re searching for something and it doesn’t show up, it may have been tagged for a mature audience. You can also try disabling your ad-blocker if you have it running.
