Samsung’s Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic were promised Samsung Pay support way back when they first launched, but the mobile payment platform has only really been available on the smartwatch in a closed beta until now. Today, though, Samsung has finally issued an update to both Bluetooth versions of the watches bringing Samsung Pay (beta) support.

For now, only the Bluetooth versions have an open invite into the on-going beta. Samsung has promised to move the 3G/4G versions of the Gear S2 into open beta, but has indicated roughly when that might happen. It also looks like this open beta is contained within the borders of the US. The company says these smartwatches will remain in open beta until Samsung Pay lines up with Samsung’s “standard of excellence.

Samsung wants to hear a healthy amount of feedback from all of you Gear S2 owners before officially launching Samsung Pay for Gear, so be sure to submit as much as possible!

A few days prior to this rollout, Samsung issued a 60MB update for the Gear S2 family that brought a new My Photo watch face, improved fitness tracking and much more.
