Samsung gave its Health app a major update a few months ago, introducing several new tools to keep better track of your health. Now, the company is rolling out another update, this time focusing more on its sleep and running features.
In a new blog post, the company announced a couple of noteworthy changes to the Samsung Health app. First, it’s lowering the data requirement to use Sleep Coaching. The feature originally required at least seven days of sleep tracking data in a month, but Samsung has lowered it to three days of sleep data within the past two weeks. Once users complete setup, Sleep Coaching gives them daily habit checklists and weekly recommendations to improve sleep.
The update also introduces a new Sleep Balance graph. This pentagon-shaped graph provides an at-a-glance view of five sleep indicators: sleep time, sleep regularity, awake time during the night, sleep satisfaction, and Energy Score.
The update also improves the Running Coach feature in the Health app. Samsung has increased the number of training tiers in Running Coach from 10 levels to 12. These higher tiers target intermediate and advanced runners, helping them set higher benchmarks and improve performance.
For people who use Strava to track their running, cycling, or trail running data, the Samsung Health app now offers Strava integration. You can import Strava Routes into Samsung Health to access them seamlessly on your Galaxy smartwatch.
There’s an improved social sharing feature built into the Samsung Health app as well. It now includes templates you can use to quickly export and share running workout data.
The updated Samsung Health experience is rolling out globally. However, Samsung said it’s a progressive rollout, meaning it could take time for the update to reach all users.
