Good Lock, bad lock screen: Weird bug messes with clock placement following One UI 9 update

Good Lock is supposed to give Galaxy owners more control over how One UI looks, but one Galaxy S26 Ultra user has found their carefully arranged lock screen doing its own thing after updating to One UI 9. They weren’t imagining it, with Samsung now confirming that there’s an issue affecting clock positioning when using Good Lock’s ClockFace options.

The problem was raised on Samsung’s Korean Community forum by a Galaxy S26 Ultra owner. They showed how the time and date were positioned close together in LockStar, but the actual lock screen and Always-On Display put them much farther apart. The clock itself had moved rather awkwardly to almost the very top of the display.

Samsung’s Good Lock support team replied to confirm that it has reproduced a bug in which clocks provided by Good Lock ClockFace can appear in a different position than the one the user selected. The development team is investigating the problem.

Positive as it may be to get a fairly quick response confirming that the team is on the case, there isn’t a fix just yet. Samsung recommends using one of the Galaxy phone’s default clock styles for the time being. If the same positioning problem occurs with a default clock type, the company is asking affected users to submit an error report with logs for further investigation.

The report comes shortly after Samsung began rolling out stable One UI 9 to the Galaxy S26 series in Korea. One commenter also said they’d seen similar clock-positioning behavior on the S26 Ultra in the One UI 9 beta and that others had experienced it on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, but there’s no further indication of how widespread the issue is right now.
