TL;DR
  • Prices of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro have leaked.
  • The company could be upping the cost of its base variants, while the pro model might go beyond $400.

Prices of different Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 models have leaked, and it looks like the wearable will be more expensive than its predecessor.

The information comes courtesy of reliable tipster and WinFuture journalist Roland Quandt. He claims that the base Galaxy Watch 5 variant in its 40mm avatar will come in at €300 (~$315), and the 44mm version will cost €350 (~$367).

Meanwhile, the LTE models of the Galaxy Watch 5 are said to cost €350 (~$367) and €400 (~$420) for the 40mm and 44mm variants, respectively.

In comparison, the Galaxy Watch 4 started at €269 for the 40mm size and €299 for the 44mm variant. Converted to dollars, those prices were pretty close to what the device was priced in the US. The 40mm Galaxy Watch 4 came in at $249, while the 44mm version cost $299. Seeing the leaked European prices, the Galaxy Watch 5 could be about $30 to $50 more expensive in the US this time.

Quandt also revealed the prices for the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. He claims that the Bluetooth model will cost €490 (~$514), while the LTE variant will go up to €490 (~$567). This suggests that Samsung could charge upwards of $400 for the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro in the US.

As Quandt mentions, price conversions and taxes may vary in different parts of the world. So we’ll have to wait and see how these alleged European Galaxy Watch 5 prices translate in the US.

The tipster also revealed the colorways of the smartwatch. The 40mm model could come in pink gold, gray, and silver, whereas the 44mm will exclude pink gold and go for blue. The Pro model is expected to launch in black and titanium shades.
