  • The Samsung Galaxy S22 Certified Re-Newed is coming soon to celebrate Earth Day.
  • You can get a nearly-new phone for a steep discount.
  • Re-Newed Galaxy S21 phones are also coming down in price.

The Galaxy S22 series is over a year old at this point, but Samsung no longer makes the Galaxy S22 Plus or Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Galaxy S22 is still available for $699, but if the superior Galaxy S23 is only $799, why bother?

Thankfully, Samsung is about to make the Galaxy S22 series an attractive deal again. Starting on April 22 — Earth Day 2023 — you’ll be able to get Samsung Galaxy S22 Certified Re-Newed directly from Samsung. The company’s Certified Re-Newed program offers refurbished devices that are like-new, complete with the same warranty you get with a new phone.

Here’s how pricing will break down:

  • Renewed Galaxy S22 — $619 for 128GB in Phantom Black or Phantom Green
  • Renewed Galaxy S22 Plus — $769 for 128GB in Phantom Black
  • Renewed Galaxy S22 Ultra — $919 for 128GB in Phantom Black

The best discount is for the Ultra model. A Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Certified Re-Newed saves you $280 over the original list price of $1,199. The weakest discount is for the vanilla model. With the launch of the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung dropped the price of the Galaxy S22 to just $699. That means you’re only saving $80 with the Re-Newed version over a brand new one.

Want to save even more cash? The Certified Re-Newed Galaxy S21 series is also coming down in price on April 22. Starting then, you’ll be able to get a refurbished Galaxy S21 for $529, a Galaxy S21 Plus for $679, and a Galaxy S21 Ultra for $829.

Samsung tying this announcement to Earth Day fits in with its big push into sustainability over the past year. Do your part for the environment — and save a few bucks — by buying a Re-Newed phone and saving it from the landfill!
