TL;DR
  • Leaker Roland Quandt says Samsung won’t include a power adapter with Galaxy S21 Ultra units in Germany.
  • German consumers also won’t find a case or free pair of headphones in the box either.

One day after posting dozens of press renders of the Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus, WinFuture’s Roland Quandt, who has a good track record when it comes to pre-release leaks, has shared all of the S21 Ultra’s specs. If you’ve been following our rumor hub, you’ll know we’ve been able to piece together most of the S21 Ultra’s spec sheet before today. But there are a couple of interesting tidbits in Quandt’s report.

The most notable of which is that he says in Germany the S21 Ultra won’t ship with a power adapter in the box. He also notes the phone won’t come with a free case or pair of in-ear headphones. According to Quandt, the only extra German consumers will find in the box is a USB-C cable. Before anyone gets upset, it’s possible Quandt’s source is wrong, and even if their information is accurate, it may not apply outside of the European Union.

However, it wouldn’t be a surprising move. We’ve already seen Samsung reduce the number of accessories it includes with its phones. In North America, for instance, the Note 20 doesn’t come with the AKG headphones that are included in the box with the South Korean variant of the phone though you can call Samsung to get a free pair. If Samsung does not include a power adapter with its S21 phones, it will be interesting to see how the company explains the decision. Will it take the same tack as Apple?

Turning to the rest of the report, Quandt, corroborating other rumors, says the phone will ship with S Pen-compatibility thanks to a built-in Wacom digitizer. He adds that you’ll be able to buy the stylus either separately or as part of a bundle that also includes a silicone case and one of the company’s smart view covers. He says the phone will feature a 5,000mAh battery and is IP68-certified against water and dust. The display measures in at 6.8-inches and has a 3,200 x 1,440-pixel resolution with 20:9 aspect ratio. In Europe, the phone will ship with Samsung’s new Exynos 2100 chip, which he says could run at a top clock speed of 2.9GHz. Lastly, he notes camera performance should be improved despite the fact the S21 Ultra will feature a main camera sensor that is the same physical size as the one found in its predecessor.
