TL;DR
  • Some Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus units are experiencing serious screen issues.
  • The screen on affected phones turns green and/or white, effectively rendering the devices unusable.

Samsung’s Galaxy S20 series was one of the most feature-packed phone families of last year, and these devices are still pretty great today. Unfortunately, it seems like some owners are reporting a major screen defect.

Some Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus owners have taken to Samsung’s support forum, Reddit, and other platforms to complain of screen flickering that eventually results in the entire screen turning green and/or white (h/t: Android Police). Check out a YouTube video from one affected consumer below.

The issue means that the phones are effectively rendered useless as owners can’t make out what’s on their screen. Some affected users also noted that they haven’t dropped their phones, suggesting that it’s either a hardware fault or a software issue.

It also seems like a factory reset doesn’t solve matters, according to a user on the Samsung forum, with another claiming that they ultimately had to get their screen replaced.

We’ve asked Samsung for comment regarding the issue and will update the article if/when the firm gets back to us. Do you have a Galaxy S20 series phone that’s affected by this issue? Let us know via the comments section below.
