TL;DR
  • A rumor stemming from Korea says that Samsung is done with the Samsung Galaxy Note series.
  • The rumor says the company is ceasing production of the Note 20 series before the end of 2021.
  • There are also rumors saying the company has no new Note plans at all.

Most of our readers know there was no Galaxy Note launch in 2021. Renders of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra suggest it will be taking up the Note mantle, so the possibility of a new Note in 2022 didn’t seem likely either.

Now, a new report from ET News (h/t 9to5Google) out of Korea suggests the Samsung Galaxy Note line could be truly done. According to the report, Samsung may end production of the current Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series by the end of 2021. This is pretty interesting since the company allegedly produced 3.2 million units in the series, and the phone still sells. It just might not be selling enough to warrant new production.

Since Sammy has already ended production of the Note 10 line, that would mean no already-released Note phones could be produced starting in 2022.

The report also backs up the idea that there might not be a new Note phone in 2022 at all. Allegedly, Samsung has no Note phones on its 2022 schedule.

If there were any doubts about the end of the Samsung Galaxy Note line, this article seems to thwart them.

Of course, there’s still the Galaxy S22 Ultra. According to leaks and rumors, it will essentially be a Galaxy Note phone, complete with an S Pen slot. It just won’t carry the Note name.

Pour one out for the Samsung Galaxy Note line. It was a good run.
