TL;DR
  • Specifications of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6 reportedly leaked.
  • Based on the leak, the Galaxy J6 looks to be the more powerful device of the two.
  • Details regarding the Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6’s release and pricing are slim.

As much as Samsung is known for its flagship smartphones, the company also churns out budget devices at a faster clip. Not much was known about the Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6, Samsung’s alleged upcoming budget smartphones, though SamMobile reportedly leaked their specifications.

Starting with the Galaxy J4, the phone reportedly features a 5.5-inch 720p display with a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. It is unknown whether the display is LCD or Super AMOLED, though the phone allegedly features a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.

Under the hood, a quad-core Exynos 7570 chipset and either 2GB or 3GB of RAM reportedly power the Galaxy J4. The 3,000mAh battery should be enough for all-day use, with Android 8.0 Oreo available out of the box.

As for the Galaxy J6, the phone allegedly features a 5.6-inch AMOLED Infinity Display. Because of the octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset under the hood, the display’s resolution might not be higher than HD+ (1,480 x 720).

Elsewhere, the Galaxy J6 might sport 2GB, 3GB, or 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3,000mAh battery, a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP selfie shooter, and Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

It is unknown whether the Galaxy J6 is one of the four “Made in India” Galaxy J phones meant to take on Xiaomi’s budget offerings. We also do not know when Samsung will announce the Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6, how much the phones will sell for, or where they will be sold.

Seeing how both phones passed by the FCC a few weeks ago, it should not be much longer until Samsung makes some sort of announcement.
