Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro with 5,000mAh battery launches in India for Rs. 32,490
Samsung has unveiled its new Galaxy A9 Pro in India, which is the new cream of the crop of the company’s Galaxy A series. The handset features considerably more powerful specifications that other A series handsets and a few upgrades over the regular A9, making it quite a compelling mid-range option.
For starters, the handset packs in a powerful octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. The chip boasts four high performance 1.8GHz Cortex-A72 cores and four low power Cortex-A53 cores, backed up by an Adreno 510GPU. There’s also a huge 4GB of RAM on board, accompanied by 32GB of expandable internal storage.
“With capabilities like multitasking with higher memory and advanced processor, one of the largest batteries in the industry for long lasting use and an enhanced camera with Optical Image Stabilizer along-with low light photography capability, the Galaxy A9 Pro provides a Flagship experience.” – Samsung
The Galaxy A9 Pro is a rather large device, with a 6-inch 1080p display and 161.7 x 80.9 x 7.9mm dimensions. Fortunately, this size has allowed Samsung to pack in a huge 5,000mAh battery with fast charging technology. The phone also features a 16 megapixel rear camera with OIS, an 8 megapixel front facing camera, a fingerprint scanner, dual 4G LTE SIM card slots, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
For comparison, the original Galaxy A9 came sporting 3GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel rear camera, and a smaller 4,000mAh battery. So, consumers can improved better battery life, slightly better multitasking performance, and a bump in camera resolution with the Pro model. The exterior design remains unchanged.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro will be sold in Gold, Black and White color options. The price is to be set at Rs. 32,490 ($485) and the phone will be available across India starting September 26th.
