It could be an exciting phone for pixel peepers, but not so much for wired headphone users.

TL;DR
  • New details and renders of the Samsung Galaxy A73 have leaked.
  • There aren’t too many aesthetic differences, but the phone could include a 108MP camera and 33W charging.
  • The phone could debut before the end of the year.

We expect big things from Samsung‘s Galaxy A series next year. The company already announced the 5G-toting Galaxy A13, while the Galaxy A33 is expected to gain water resistance. Now, new renders and details of the forthcoming Galaxy A73 have emerged.

Stemming from tipster OnLeaks and Zoutons, the latest leak gives us our first look at the Galaxy A series range-topper and provides a brief overview of its specs.

Aesthetically, the Galaxy A73 could look an awful lot like its predecessor. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but those hoping for a design akin to the Galaxy S21 series may be disappointed. There’s a prominent rectangular camera array at the rear housing at least four lenses. One of these reportedly packs a 108MP sensor. There’s a punch hole camera, a 6.7-inch display, and an in-display fingerprint sensor up front.

Samsung Galaxy A73 tipped specs

In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy A73 could measure 163.8 x 76 x 9.6mm. That provides enough room for a 5,000mAh battery supported by 33W fast charging.

The report adds that the Snapdragon 750G could power the phone, a minor upgrade over the Snapdragon 720G used in its predecessor but pretty disappointing if you were hoping for fresher silicon. The chipset may include up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It’s unclear if there’ll be an expansion slot this time around.

Notably, the renders suggest there’ll be no 3.5mm headphone jack on the phone, but this isn’t too surprising. We’ve already seen leaked Galaxy A33 renders lacking the port. It’ll likely become a trend across cheaper Samsung phones.

As for availability and pricing, there’s no concrete launch date for the Samsung Galaxy A73, but the leak points to a launch date before the new year. Pricing, at least in India, could come in around Rs 32,999 (~$440).
