TL;DR
  • Redmi has launched AMD-powered Redmibook Pro laptops and the Airdots 3 Pro TWS buds.
  • There’s no word on availability outside China just yet.

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has launched several products at its event in China today, highlighted by the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 10 Pro that’s starkly different from other variants. The company also launched two more notable products, namely the Redmi Airdots 3 Pro and Redmibook Pro Ryzen Edition laptops.

Starting with the AMD-powered Redmibook Pro line, we’ve got 14-inch and 15-inch flavors packing 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSDs. The laptops also share integrated Radeon graphics as well as I/O options (two USB-C ports, a USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.2 port, a 3.5mm port, and an HDMI out). They also share a measly 720p webcam as well as Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, and an integrated fingerprint scanner.

These Redmibooks mainly differ in terms of the processor, display, and battery. The 15-inch model packs either a Ryzen 5 5600H or Ryzen 7 5800H CPU, a 15.6-inch 3,200 x 2,000 screen (90Hz refresh rate, 16:10), and a 70Wh battery. Meanwhile, the 14-inch model offers either a Ryzen 5 5500U or Ryzen 7 5700U CPU, a 14-inch 2,560 x 1,600 screen (60Hz, 16:10), and a 56Wh battery.

Moving to the Redmi Airdots 3 Pro, this is Redmi’s first pair of true wireless earbuds with noise cancellation (up to 35 decibels). In terms of design, you’re looking at earbuds that are similar to Redmi’s previous stalk-less buds, along with a charging case that’s more in line with the Pixel Buds case.

You can also expect low latency support of 69 milliseconds on supported devices, Bluetooth 5.2 support, and dual device pairing. Redmi says the earbuds should get roughly six hours of music playback time before needing to charge, while the charging case offers 28 hours of overall juice.

Redmi product pricing

The RedmiBook Pro Ryzen models start at 4,299 yuan (~$672) for the base 14-inch model, while splashing out 4,699 yuan (~$735) gets you a better processor. Prefer the 15-inch model? Then it starts at 4,799 yuan (~$750), while 5,299 yuan (~$829) gets you an upgraded chip too.

Expect to pay 299 yuan (~$47) for the Redmi Airdots 3 Pro as part of an opening promotion, but they’re otherwise priced at 349 yuan (~$55). This will be available in black or gray color options.

There’s no word on availability outside China for either of these products, but hopefully they come to global markets later this year.
