The beloved 3.5mm headphone jack has almost reached the end of its mighty reign as the default for smartphone audio. USB-C and wireless headphones are on the rise, but we’re still suffering through #donglelife with no real end in sight.

If you’ve been on the fence about picking up a pair of new Bluetooth headphones, Android Authority‘s audience is here to help you pick the right pair. Last week we asked our readers to vote for their favorite pair of wireless and true wireless headphones across two surveys. As before, we made a shortlist of the most popular products announced in the first half of 2019 on Android Authority and our sister site Sound Guys.

Reader’s Choice: The best wireless headphones so far in 2019

We saw slightly more votes cast in the wireless category compared to the true wireless category, but the overall crowd favorite was ultimately untethered by any wires. With an astonishing 50% of the vote in the true wireless category and 23.5% of the overall vote, your pick for the best wireless headphones so far in 2019: the truly wireless Sony WF-1000XM3.

Our runner up overall was the crowd favorite in the regular wireless category, the AKG N700NC, with 35% of the vote in the wireless section and 18.5% overall when you combine both surveys.
