Philips Hue debuts new smart lighting solutions for your yard
Last night Lifx announced several new lighting products for CES 2020. Now it’s Philips Hue’s turn. While Lifx focused on indoor lighting, Hue is expanding its outdoor range with new smart wall lights and low-voltage fixtures.
The wall-mounted Appear is a unique triangle of light that is designed to add a bit of curb appeal to the outside of your home. You can change the colors, though only one color at a time, per fixture. The Appear will set consumers back $139.99.
There are also new low-voltage Lily XL spotlights that provide “powerful light output” to your yard. A base kit will set you back $149.99, while extensions are $129.99.
Philips Hue is also introducing a low-voltage pedestal light as part of its Econic family of products. This path lighting solution will cost $149.99 for the base kit, and $129.99 for extensions.
Philips says their outdoor smart lighting solutions are partially about creating the perfect look at night, but it’s also about making it easy to navigate safely in the dark or even deter unwanted gues with the light. All the above solutions support come Philips Hue lighting features including the ability to set routines based on time of the day.
Lastly, Philips Hue is introducing a new 100W outdoor power supply unit and a 2.5-meter extension cable to make it easier to set up smart lights throughout your yard.
Philips says all its new products will arrive this March, though it hasn’t given a specific release schedule yet. What do you think of Lifx’s latest announcements? Let us know in the comments.
