The OnePlus Watch is now official some five years after it was first imagined by the company. It’s nothing revolutionary but does mark the company’s first foray into the smartwatch segment. For a $159 smartwatch, it packs a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen, 4GB of storage, and a claimed two weeks of battery life. But does this feature set appeal to readers?

In a recent poll, we asked you if you’d consider buying the OnePlus Watch. Here’s what you told us.

Will you buy the OnePlus Watch?

OnePlus Watch poll results

Unlike the timid reception of the OnePlus 9 series, the OnePlus Watch seemingly has quite a few fans. More than 1,400 votes were tallied and just 24.5% of voters say they would not purchase the OnePlus Watch. That’s a surprisingly large portion considering OnePlus is largely untried in this segment.

36% of respondents were on the fence, answering “maybe” to the question posed. Just under 40% were more assured, giving us a resounding “yes.”

OnePlus isn’t competing against the Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, but it’ll take aim against budget offerings from the likes of Amazfit and Xiaomi. OnePlus stands a good chance in this particular fight, but if the Watch is anything like the OnePlus Band, you may want to look elsewhere for a new wearable.

Here’s what you told us

  • Cometer: Several shortcomings. Few apps, no NFC. Missing some high-end smart watch features like EPG and apps. The issue I have with this device is that it’s targeting a niche within a niche. Sure it’s well priced compared to other options and gives decent battery life. But that’s the issue. There are plenty of similar well-established alternatives.
  • MOSSIE125: Looks really good, can’t wait for an in-depth comparison. If it stacks up, I’ll probably get the limited edition because of the sapphire glass.
  • Tennisfreak: No mention of whether this watch will work with any phone or not. And if so will it have full functionality on all platforms or will it need to be paired with OnePlus devices?

That’s it for our OnePlus Watch poll. Thanks for your votes and comments. If you have any additional thoughts on the OnePlus Watch or the results of the poll be sure to drop them down below.
