OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro coming to the US and Canada this month

Late last year, OnePlus announced it was creating a customizable mechanical keyboard. Eventually, it launched the Keyboard 81 Pro, a collaboration between it and Keychron. Unfortunately, the keyboard was only available in select areas of the world.

Now, though, the OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro is available here in the United States and up north in our neighboring Canada. Pre-orders open today, with general availability beginning on July 26.

As the name suggests, the keyboard has 81 keys. It also has a rotary dial in the upper right corner that is transparent. OnePlus’ signature color theme abounds across both colorways, with light gray, dark gray, and pops of red appearing. There is also per-key RGB, should you want to customize things a bit more.

Ultimately, though, this keyboard is just a rebranded version of what Keychron has long offered. OnePlus has put a new coat of paint onto it, but Keychron fans won’t find many surprises here. Still, if you’re looking for a good mechanical keyboard and happen to be a OnePlus fanatic, you can’t go wrong with this choice.

OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro: Price and availability

As mentioned earlier, pre-orders for the keyboard are open now in the US and Canada. General sales begin on July 26.

You’ll have two colorway choices. One is called Summer Breeze (pictured on this page), and the other is called Winter Bonfire. The latter colorway isn’t much different, it just swaps the dark gray keys with light gray and vice versa, so the keyboard is less “bright.” There are no functional differences between the two colors.

In the US, the Summer Breeze model will cost $239. The Winter Bonfire model, for some reason, is $20 cheaper at $219. In Canada, Summer Breeze will be CAD $329 and Winter Bonfire will be CAD $299.
