TL;DR
  • OnePlus will announce two new Bluetooth headphones on October 14th, according to leaker Ishan Agarwal.
  • The OnePlus Buds Z will feature an IP55 water and dust-resistance rating, and fast charging support.

With less than a week to go before OnePlus unveils the OnePlus 8T on October 14, leaker Ishan Agarwal (via 91mobiles) has shared new details about the OnePlus Buds Z and OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z Bass Edition, two pairs of Bluetooth headphones the company will announce that same day.

OnePlus will likely position the Buds Z as a more affordable take on its existing OnePlus Buds. The new true wireless headphones will feature 10mm drivers and up to 20 hours of battery life. For comparison, the OnePlus Buds sport 13.4mm drivers and OnePlus claims you can get up to 30 hours of battery life with the included charging case.

We know from a tweet OnePlus shared recently that the Buds Z will weigh 4.35 grams and IP55 water and dust resistance. They’ll also feature more or less the same design as the OnePlus Buds — the one that US Customs says violates trademarks connected to Apple’s AirPods.

As you might have guessed from the name, the Bullets Wireless Z Bass Edition will feature a sound profile emphasizing low-end response. Battery life is also said to be worse than the Bullets Wireless Z, with a single charge expected to get you about 17 hours of playback instead of 20. Otherwise, the two pairs of Bluetooth headphones should be nearly identical. Like the current Bullets Wireless Z, the new model will include 9.2mm drivers and fast charging support that will get you 10 hours of battery life after about 10 minutes.
