TL;DR
  • OnePlus teased the Ace 7 series in China, featuring an industry-first dual-channel active cooling fan system and miniaturized tower fins, designed to lower sustained gaming temperatures by up to 10°C.
  • According to leaks from Digital Chat Station, both models feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K 185Hz display and a 200MP camera, with the Ace 7 packing a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5V and the Ace 7 Pro running the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 alongside a 50MP periscope lens.
  • The OnePlus Ace 7 series officially launches in China on October 29, though a global release is unlikely given OnePlus’s exit from the US and Europe.

More and more Android flagships are adopting built-in cooling fans. HONOR just launched the Win 2 series with top-tier flagship SoCs, all equipped with active cooling fans, and now OnePlus has announced it will also join the active-cooling-fan party with the upcoming OnePlus Ace 7 series, which launches in China next week.

According to official teasers shared on Weibo, the OnePlus Ace 7 series features a desktop-grade active cooling system designed to slash sustained gaming temperatures by up to 10°C.

OnePlus claims that traditional fan-cooled smartphones often force users to compromise between stable framerates and uncomfortable surface heat. To solve this, the Ace 7 series debuts an industry-first dual-channel air-cooling system coupled with a miniaturized tower-fin array inspired by desktop graphics cards.

Rather than relying solely on standard vapor chambers, the setup channels airflow across two distinct paths: one blowing directly over the SoC to sustain peak frame rates, and another routed under the back cover to keep the chassis cool to the touch.

OnePlus says it specifically tailored this thermal solution for landscape gaming. The air intakes are positioned away from typical grip zones so fingers don’t block airflow, while exhaust vents expel hot air upward rather than blasting it into your palms. Paired with intelligent algorithmic fan curves, OnePlus promises the hardware will eliminate thermal throttling during extended sessions without turning the phone into a pocket furnace.

Alongside the official teasers, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station leaked further specifications for the lineup on Weibo.

The leak suggests both models in the Ace 7 family will sport built-in fans and feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K display with a blazing-fast 185Hz refresh rate, as well as a 200MP main camera. Under the hood, the standard Ace 7 will reportedly run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5V variant (SM8850Q), while the higher-end Ace 7 Pro is slated to pack the full-fat Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (SM8850) alongside a dedicated 50MP periscope telephoto lens.

One of OnePlus’s official teasers also pictures the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, so at least one phone packs that processor.

Digital Chat Station previously said that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with a cooling fan gives better gaming performance than even the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 (without a fan). If these claims pan out, adding a cooling fan might be one of the best solutions for performance-oriented users that doesn’t burn a hole in their pockets, or burn their fingers either.

We will learn full specifications, pricing, and availability details when OnePlus officially unwraps the Ace 7 series on October 29. However, given that OnePlus has exited key markets like the US and Europe, don’t hold your breath for these phones launching globally.
