TL;DR
  • OnePlus has announced that the OnePlus 16 will have a 9,000mAh battery.
  • This is almost 2,000mAh larger than the OnePlus 15 battery and almost double the capacity of the S26 Ultra battery.
  • OnePlus previously said the phone will have a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, a 200MP main camera, and a 50MP 3x camera.

The OnePlus 15 may have been a polarizing release for the company, but it still stood out thanks to a 7,300mAh battery. We’ve heard rumors for a while now that the OnePlus 16 could take things even further, and the brand has now made it official.

OnePlus executive Li Jie Louis has revealed on Weibo that the OnePlus 16 will get a 9,000mAh battery. That’s a 1,700mAh boost over the already impressive OnePlus 15 battery.

This is also more than double the capacity of the Samsung Galaxy S26 (4,300mAh) and nearly double that of the Galaxy S26 Ultra (5,000mAh). Judging by my experience with the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max and its 9,210mAh battery (10,000mAh outside Europe), you might be looking at three days of usage.

OnePlus also confirmed that the phone supports 50W wireless charging and bypass charging. There’s no official word on wired charging speed, but a regulatory filing previously hinted at 100W charging. There’s more to fast charging than peak wattage, so we hope the OnePlus 16 delivers high-wattage charging for more than a couple of minutes.

Otherwise, OnePlus previously revealed that the OnePlus 16 will have a 185Hz screen, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP 3x camera. The OnePlus 16 launches in China on October 12, but it won’t be available in Europe or the US following the brand’s exit from these markets.
