A Google account is basically a must if you want to seamlessly use an Android phone (unless you’re living that Google-free life). The account allows you to download apps from the Play Store, back up your photos to the cloud, use Google Drive for storage, and much more.

We’ve also seen Android manufacturers allow you to log into an OEM account on their devices too. For example, Samsung users can log into their Samsung accounts, people with Xiaomi devices can log into their Mi accounts, and those with Huawei devices have a HUAWEI ID.

Are you logged into an OEM/manufacturer account on your phone?

There are a couple of benefits to logging into an OEM account, as manufacturers tend to offer some cloud storage, access to their services (e.g. theme stores, payment functionality, alternative app stores), and/or the ability to sync your data (e.g. contacts, messages) via their accounts.

So we want to know whether you’re logged into an OEM/manufacturer account on your Android phone right now. Let us know by voting in the poll above. And do note that we’re not counting Google as an OEM account. Sorry, Pixel users.
