Nvidia’s upcoming Shield TV Pro and Shield TV stick are not really shrouded in secrecy. Shield TV Pro units have already started selling at some Best Buy locations. Meanwhile, the tube-like Shield TV also showed up on a Canadian retailer’s website a few days back. Now, it looks like NVIDIA has finally started teasing the official launch date for the Android TV devices.

The teaser posted through NVIDIA’s official Shield Twitter account references a launch date for October 28. This lines up perfectly with a previously spotted pre-order Amazon listing for the Shield TV Pro. In the listing, the ecommerce platform had noted that the device will be released on October 28. However, Amazon has since removed the listing.

As per previous leaks, the Pro version of the Shield TV is expected to cost $199. The design of the device, from what we’ve seen so far, looks unchanged compared to its predecessor.

What’s new in both the Shield TV Pro and smaller Shield TV is the latest Tegra X1+ processor which promises a 25% performance boost. There’s also a new remote in tow.

Since Android 9 rolled out to the current Shield TV pretty recently, we’re not sure if the new NVIDIA Shield TV devices will feature the latest Android 10 update at launch. However, they would most likely get the update soon, if not out of the box.
