New NVIDIA Shield TV Pro launching this month, shows up on Amazon (Updated)
Update: Pre-orders went live for the new NVIDIA Shield TV Pro briefly this morning, but NVIDIA has since removed the listing from Amazon.
Original article: We were big fans of the original NVIDIA Shield TV here at Android Authority, so we were quite happy to see pre-orders for the new NVIDIA Shield TV Pro show up on Amazon earlier today.
The device will come with a slightly more expensive $199 price tag compared to the current model. As for the design of the device, from what we can tell, it looks pretty much unchanged.
The main differences are that the new NVIDIA Shield TV Pro comes with the latest Tegra X1+ processor and a more robust remote. This new Tegra chipset boasts a 25% improvement over last generation’s processor. The RAM and storage remain the same, coming in at 3GB and 16GB, respectively.

Android 9 came to the current NVIDIA Shield only a couple of months ago. With Google on track to release Android 10 on Android TV devices by the end of the year, we don’t know if the new NVIDIA Shield TV Pro will launch with the updated OS or not.
As we have said before, the NVIDIA Shield TV is an amazing device. It is the best Android TV box you can pick up right now, and we expect the NVIDIA Shield TV Pro to dethrone it when it launches in a couple of weeks.
Pre-orders are available now, and the device launches October 28.
